About the Owner

A Northwest native farm-girl, Corena Martinson, founder and owner of Pretty City Home Staging INC, was raised on the shores of the Puget Sound. She grew up riding horses, paddling kayaks, and selling flowers and produce at local farmer’s markets. She loves learning and considers herself a student of daily life. Finding beauty in the mundane and discarded, she is an artist and naturalist who has a great appreciation for the tiniest details and a respect for the larger world and its fragility. She sees her environs with a fresh and uniquely creative vision.

Corena studied fine arts, art history, design, and literature at Pacific Lutheran University. She has also taken many courses in floral design, horticulture, landscape design, and gardening. She has over twenty years of valuable hands-on experience in these areas. Refinishing vintage furniture, mosaics, origami, calligraphy, sewing, and dying textiles are just a few of her other interesting skills. Her creativity is boundless. She is a master at translating a space or object at hand into a thing of beauty. Salvage, restoration, and using the immediately available resources to create lovely things and spaces are her passion.

Corena has augmented her innate talent with formal training, and gained a staging accreditation in 2014. She has a unique ability to bring spaces to life with color, texture, light, balance, well placed furnishings, and objet d’art. She is passionate about bringing those skills and visions to homes in need of staging. Corena attributes some of her eye for interiors to her time spent as a floral designer, and property manager for high-end estate homes. Ms. Martinson prides herself in being professional and courteous, making each project the most important project, having expert communication and presentation skills, as well as managing deadlines and the needs of individual clients.
