The beginning of a new month always feels like the perfect time for a quick reflection before resetting. October was a whirlwind month for the business, Pretty City kicked off with our first ever Warehouse Sale before moving onto consults, walkthroughs, stagings, stylings, and business planning! While attempting to make room for new inventory by selling off gently- or never- used furniture, candles, pillows, and art we got to see many of our clients and friends. It was a high note that carried our spirits through the past four- very full- weeks.
We made our way all throughout the Puget Sound in October. Our first- a glorious new construction in Ollala- boasted sky-high ceilings, heated bathroom tile, and a sound system wired throughout; all while nestled on the forest’s edge.
Just the next day, blocks from home we staged a classic Tudor that closed within three weeks of staging (talk about a turn-around!) The home was met with orange-toned leaves, shimmering blue skies, and pleasantly brisk air when we were done and could not have looked better! We blinked and it was time to destage, although even weeks later the incredible coloring that this season brought could still be captured.
Then we were off to Port Orchard and Bremerton the next few days to stage vacant listings for homes that both went pending less than a week after list date! The pair had an undeniable charm that we highlighted easily using a mix of modern and classic pieces. Check out the art in the photo directly below, completed by a local Tacoma dwelling artist, showcasing the moody turquoise wall perfectly.
We were then lucky enough to have a few weeks of consults and back-end work to strategize and tighten the business plan for November and onward. We are learning that there is a time to work for your business and a time to work on your business, having time to do the latter is essential in creating a plan to follow effectively.
With a few destagings set for the last week of the month, we were able to complete one home from start to finish in one day that left us riding the Autumn wave home. On this home, we aimed to highlight the potential for multi-use spaces within a large area. There was capacity for both informal and formal dining sets as well as living areas that could comfortable seat any and all company!
Feeling majorly inspired and ready to step into November intentions with a head full of ideas, we cannot wait to see what projects this season brings!
Cheers,
Pretty City Staging
